We had a guy for lecture on Monday who taught us about motion and "getting into the mindset of the character", to help us make our animations better. This guy is a motion capture actor, and he was Woola (the dog thing) in John Carter of Mars, he played Grawp in Harry Potter, and he was Mopatop in Mopatops shop, and he did some puppetry for the Muppets and stuff. He is a really interesting and funny guy!
He got us to act like dragons, meerkats, old people, drunk people... but it was all for a good reason! My legs killed me for days afterwards haha, but it was fun! And he showed us some production stuff from Harry Potter and John Carter.
Plus, I really wanna see John Carter now

I hope he comes back to teach again! Apparently, they spent most of their time filming John Carter in the Utah Desert, sweating their asses off in Lycra haha. And when he auditioned to play Woola, all he did was fart and sniff the interviewers crotch, and they gave him the job because he was a perfect dog

I lol'd.
