A MUCH better quality version of the lipsynch tutorial: [link]
FINALLY.
I finished it! Kind of.... First off, I am by no means an expert. All the stuff here is self taught since I haven't been to Uni yet, and my school doesn't teach animation. But it'll be helpfull ^^ I didn't add things such as the squash and stretch technique because there wasn't enough space, and this was reaaallly slowing down Flash (all the vids). So I may make another one like this about techniques such as squash and stretch, and how to time your animations, and link the tuts together.
I really wanted to add loads more information, but the file was becoming faaar too big, and I couldn't reduce it any more (the videos are all in the lowest of low quality). I hope the information here helps someone!
Sorry most of the stuff is Lion King related... most of my recent animations are Lion King fanimations, haha XD And sorry the videos are so jumpy... that's to do with haveing to save them in crappy quality again.
All of the animations in this tutorial are by me. The music is royalty free from here: [link]
i cant use flash causee i dont have it i will ussaully find an online site that lets me annimate i stinks cause ive always wanted to do some of the things others do
Sorry if I'm bothering, but could anyone here answer this? I'm using adobe CS5, and I saw in the tutorial that you could 'sketch' using the pencil tool on the platform. However when I draw with the pencil tool it sort of autocorrects it. Like when I draw a scribbly line, adobe flash CS5 autocorrects and turns it into a wavy line. Does anyone know how to solve this?
You posted this 2 years ago but... I think it could be something to do with the settings? Like did you pick 'smooth' or whatever the other options are?
WOW thank you! (honestly to go bother going through a comment 2 years ago, I truly thank you!) However there's a problem, I can't seem to change the smoothness settings number, it has always stayed on 50? Do you know how to solve it by any chance?
The thing is I could only change the smoothness settings of the brush and the smallest size 0.10, is not thin enough for sketching? It would help if you could solve it!
That's odd :\ you should be able to change the smoothness settings by either dragging it or entering a number. (Under the Fill & Stroke section when selecting the pencil tool).
I honestly don't really know what I can do to help :c but maybe you could select the "smooth" when using the pencil tool? (y'know how you can pick 'straight' or 'ink').
Sorry for not being much help.
You could ask this guy on Youtube; Samgreenmedia2 for help. His Adobe Flash tutorials are great, and he's much more experienced with the program than I am.
It's sort of hard to explain; but when you select the pencil tool, you would be able to see the 'Smoothing section' (which you can't change- right?).
But under the hand tool and Zoom tool, you should see some sort of line-like tool which you would be able to select. Clicking on it would bring the options Straighten, Smooth and Ink.
It doesn't smooth it out a great deal like the Smoothing section would, but it should be decent for animating/flash games etc.

But may I also ask (how exactly do you pick smooth?)

Anyways thanks for helping! Really appreciate it!
