Very nice work with shading and form. It almost looks like a pointalism piece. Don't know if the image is just grainy or if that is what you actually used, but either way I like the effect. Nicely done! I hope you work on a few more realism pieces.

this is great :D I do have a few suggestions about color and loghting. You need to group your colors and lighting in blocks based on planes using light logic. If the light is coming from the top right side of the image, then his face and any part of his face that is closest to that light will be the brightest. His main could never get as light as his face if this is the case. It's still going to be lighter than the parts further from the sun, but darker then his face. Another thing to keep in mind, if you are going to realism (or semi-realism) colors have a base value. It means that no matter how much light is going to hit something that's black, it can never be lighter than something that is white in the same light. It's very complicated, but once you practice it more it will really look nice. Obviously artist can mess with this, but if you're going for a realism feel, then that is the key. Good luck! you're drawings are really nice and are on the right track. I hoped this helped.

Whoah yeah, that does sound confusing, haha XD I think I kind of get what you mean though? Maybe you could make some sort of tutorial about it, it might be easier with pictures :P
